I then selected the mid-range 1.56 index (which is close to the 1.57 of Zenni's lenses) and compared the numbers to the polycarbonate lens, which should be a 1.59 index. While I don't really know what I'm doing - it looked like the difference was about 0.2mm - which to me seems like it wouldn't be worthwhile. Mid-index is much better that standard single-vision, because lenses are thinner and lighter, but it's still a relatively low index and therefore with a prescription like yours lenses won't be that thin and light. A better choice would be 1.61 High index single vision, because the higher the index, the thinner the lenses.
